De la misma forma, nos damos cuenta que Therion no tiene limites y que quiere aplacar con un poder de dimensiones similares a su nombre...¡bestial! Primer disco de la banda holandesa After Forever, en tiempos cuando los hermanos Jansen (Mark y Floor) trabajaron juntos. Este album se distingue por ser, en mi opinión, el verdadero Gothic Metal (entiéndase como "¡ASI DEBERÍA SER SIEMPRE!"). Coros que invocan catedrales monumentales, misticismo, la voz elegante y poderosa de Floor Jansen y los guturales demoniacos de Mark Jansen, y una tematica religiosa dan un "orden caotico" a esta obra maestra. Desde la introducción hará que cualquiera quiera adentrarse a la historia que After Forever nos quiere contar.

Kamelot - Ghost Opera (2007)

Mi disco favorito de Kamelot. Me parece que es el que tiene sonido más limpio, mejor elaborado, más "pensado". Desde la introdución te llena de una especie de energía, un sentimiento epico, elegante y misterioso. Sin duda un nuevo clásico para el metal del nuevo milenio.

Kamelot - The Black Halo (2005)

Kamelot, una banda que no necesita mayor presentación. Su estilo es muy particular ya que sobresale de las demás bandas de Power Metal. No es sólo su estilo sinfónico, sino la forma de sus coros y versos, su deseo por salir del clásico estereotipo aburrido del ya viejo Power Metal. Este es uno de sus mejores y muy recomendado album. ¡Disfrutenlo!

Epica - Design Your Universe (2009)

Este album nos sorprendió a todos...fue el hecho de que a mitad del tour de The Divine Conspiracy (anterior album) hayan producido este disco. ¿Cómo y cuándo es que lograron hacerlo? Probablemente "inpiración divina".
Estos dos más recientes discos de Epica se tornaron más progresivos, el concepto más arraigado y un sonido más nuevo. Ya no sólo prueban con voces tipo "la bella y la bestia" con Simone haciendo de la voz femenina limpia y hermosa con los guturales bestiales de Mark, sino que tambien incluyen coros y momentos de armonia clasica.
Muchos han criticado este nuevo album porque dicen que Simone ya no es tan "notoria", es decir, le han quitado lineas en este script. En general pienso que si, en cirta forma es verdad, pero no deja de ser un disco hermoso y digno de estar en nuestras colecciones.

Producido en 2007, The Divine Conspiracy marca un ligero giro en el sonido de Epica. Tornándose un poco más progresivo, sin embargo sigue siendo el metal sinfónico que todos adoramos. La tematica del album es la religion, como Dios creo varios caminos que lo llevan a él, y como los humanos han transformado estos caminos para aprovecharse unos de otros. Canciones como Chasing the Dragon, The Obsessive Devotion y Never Enough ya son himnos de estos holandeses.

Epica - The Phantom Agony (2003)

Ni la banda ni este album necesitan mayor presentación...sin duda uno de los iconos, pilares del Symphonic Metal y el Gothic Metal. Simone Simons, inspirada en la voz de Tarja (ex-vocalista de Nightwish) junto con Mark Jansen, que para entonces habia sido despedido de After Forever, formaron esta agrupación que sería ya desde este album una marca permanente en la nueva era del metal en general. Sinfonías hermosas teñidas de oscuridad y elegancia, la voz indescriptible de Simone y los vocales guturales de Mark, temas que relacionan cuestiones religiosas, filosoficas y emocionales, hacen de Epica una banda impresindible en nuestras colecciones. Proyecto joven proveniente de Paises Bajos, al menos joven en ese año...un hit bien elaborado de Gothic Metal con tendencia sinfónica. La verdad no quisiera compararlos con las grandes bandas como Epica, Nightwish o After Forever, ya que cabe decir que Delain es una banda de sonido nuevo, menos complejo y cargado. Tiene una emoción distinta y es lo que hace a este album diverso, fácil de oir y lejos de ser decepcionante. Aparte cuenta con invitados especiales como Marco Hietala (Nightwish), Liv Kristine (Leaves' Eyes) y Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation).

The Early Chapters of Revelation, un recopilatorio de los tres primeros albumes de la banda sueca Therion. Siendo su epoca más apegada al Death Metal pero ya desde su primera producción presentando una idea innovadora, integrando elementos sinfónicos, vanguardistas y progresivos.

Of Darkness... (1991)

Originalmente grabado en 1991, Of Darkness... es una obra maestra realizda por los suecos cuando tenían 18 años. (Hacen sentir a uno bastante inútil!) Death Metal clásico con elementos técnicos y progresivos. Un ambiente completamente distinto; oscuro, 'disciplinado', lleno de misticismo y fuerza espiritual. Desde entonces, Therion ya pintaba para ser un titán en la cultura del metal.

"This was our debut album, consisting of songs written during the eighties. I was bareley 18 years old when we recorded this album and I must say I am still proud we managed to pull this album together - it was recorded and mixed in onnly 6 days! Beyond Sanctorum (1992)Segundo album. Adentrandose en la escena gótica, Therion toma un camino nuevo que recien daba frutos en aquellos años. Integrando ritmos más lentos pero llenos de un ambiente sinfónico, más y más adentrandose al género del que luego serían dueños. Resalta el tema "Pandemonic Outbreak", muy recomendado.
